The message of Harmony Day is Everybody Belongs. It is a day to celebrate Australia’s diversity. It is a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home – from the traditional owners of this land to those who have come from many countries around the world.

Find out where your people in your House's grandparents were born.
• Learn to say 'hello' and ‘thank you’ in their language.
• What do they call their grandparents in their language?
• Find out the types of traditional/cultural foods they eat
• Find out how many people in your class have been to their country. What were their experiences.
• Listen to the National Anthem of their country

Harmony Day Photography.
Challenge your House to capture images around your school which they feel represent the idea of diversity, or which capture key moments of your Harmony Day preparations and celebrations.
Cultural Dress.
Encourage students to wear their traditional cultural dress during Pastoral Care time for Harmony Day. Speak to the House about their cultural background (e.g. the meaning behind the cultural dress, foods, greetings or sayings in their language).
